Happy Easter!

Easter weekend started off with a brunch and Easter egg hunt on Saturday with our church group. The family who hosted the brunch have this great forest as there backyard and hid 150 eggs for the 20 or so kids (all under the age of 5!) The kids had a blast looking for eggs that were hidden behind trees and under pockets of moss.

After all the eggs were found and mass amounts of chocolate and jelly beans were consumed, the sugar-tingling kids all "sat" down for a reading of the Easter story. Caleb took this opportunity to scavenge through big brother Ryan's basket just in case.....

On our way home we stopped at the Oregon State University's lambing barn for an up-close and personal visit with the mamas and babies.

That night, after dinner, Ryan dyed his Easter eggs and couldn't wait for the Easter bunny to come and hide them. He had a blast making the eggs change colors, especially once he realized that he could take ones that were already colored, put them in another color, and get a completely different color!

Easter morning was filled with Ryan searching for his colored eggs and his Easter basket. There is nothing more comical than trying to give a 2 yr old directional terms! Of course all of this led to more consumption of chocolate - amazingly he did sleep that night.

Above is Mommy's attempt at a before church picture of her boys.

Of course, nothing tops off a good Easter like a stop at Home Depot on the way home from church =)

Just Another Typical Weekend

Ahhhh....back to reality =)

Mr. Mischief

Caleb has been growing by leaps and bounds lately. He is really active, walking along furniture, walls, people, you name it - It is only a matter of time before he is taking those first steps on his own. He also is quite the pro at stairs. He can get up and down them (on his tummy of course) in seconds flat! Thank goodness for baby gates! Of course with all of this also comes the discovery of new and exciting ways to cause trouble. Here is a little sampling of the trouble he can get into....

Mr. "Big and Strong"

Ryan also continues to grow on a daily basis. He is an absolute crack up and wise beyond his years.

One of his favorite things to do when it is rainy is to play "scientist". I basically give him bowls of colored water, dixie cups filled with things like flour and sugar, a few spoons, and turn him loose!

His absolute favorite thing to do on weekends is to help daddy build and fix things. John will usually hammer a nail into a board, give Ryan the hammer, and then let him finish the job. Surprisingly, he still has his thumbs.

Last weekend the two of them put together a desk for the downstairs playroom. Ryan was in charge of rearranging the socket wrench box - whoops!

Since the desk has been put together, Ryan has spent the last week in his "office" working on puzzles - ALL DAY, EVERYDAY DAY

Just a pretty picture taken of Ryan and Daddy a few weeks ago at the beach
